Disability Art and Culture Festival

Happy New Year!

Siam Society is proud to be helping with hosting the disability festival for the Disability Art and Culture Project

The festival will include dance performances, award-winning film previews, theatre workshops, and discussions about the emergence of a cultural identity that celebrates diversity and the disability experience through art and other creative works.

To support these endeavors, we are hosting a fundraising dinner on Monday, February 6, 2006, from 6 to 10 pm, at Portland's new premier Thai food restaurant - Siam Society and Temple Bar, located in the historic Alberta Substation at 2703 NE Alberta Street.

Please join us for an evening of gypsy jazz and fine Thai cuisine at this beautiful, inclusive venue. Your $50 contribution will include a four-course meal with savory meat or vegetarian options, a cash bar, and live acoustic swing entertainment featuring classic jazz standards from the 1920s-1950s. We are depending on you - our colleagues, friends and fellow activists - to make this evening a success!

Please mark your calendars and send an email reply today to make Portland's first Disability Art and Culture Festival a reality this spring.

This fundraising dinner is less than 5 weeks away, so we are asking each of you to please send us your reservations this week, first, by responding to this email and then, by mailing in your $50 per person donation made payable to:

Thank you in advance for your generous support of the DACP fundraising dinner on February 6th! We look forward to your reply and to sharing with you a wonderful evening of authentic Thai food tastes and textures accompanied by the incredible gypsy rhythms of Roma de la Couve. Please let us know that you received this invitation by replying to this email, and feel free to share the invitation with other friends and colleagues. We value your support.
